I\'ve added some official MechScape concept art provided very generously as an exclusive by Jagex to our gallery.

MSW staff were given a sneak peek (yes, there are perks to working for MechScape World) and this is some of the speculation we came up with:

• So there are humans.
• So there are computer-controlled vehicles
• So there is lava.
• So lava harvesting means there will be like mining of lava?
• What is slag? In the UK it can mean the less valuable by-products of the coal mining/extraction process.
• Hey, I see smoke! Where there\'s smoke, there\'s smoke effects
• Oh my, it does appear to be hovering!

I must say it is brilliant artwork. Excited?

I would hazard a guess it's a form of fuel using the heat of the lava to propel our vehicle..... either that or it could be a production method, using the liquid stone to produce weapons and other stuff.

Very nice, the yellow thing at first just looked like an ordinary hovercraft, but when upright its actually a mecha of some kind.

This is absolutely, unimaginably, totally, and to the fullest extent--SICK! Now for the sake of speculation:
Which side is the front, and which is the back?
Would the things that create the smoke be used for propulsion, getting rid of smoke which is a byproduct of processing the lava on board, simply exhaust pipes, or something else?
The vehicle says "02." Does this hint towards... a team-based game?
On the top-left projection, there appears to be some sort of window. Does this mean that we will be able to use a first-person viewpoint?
I don't see any form of landing gear, so would this vehicle float all the time, or would there be special "harbors" for this (and possibly other) vehicle(s) to land? If it does float all the time, then... how? Where does it get an "infinite" amount of fuel?
The Lava Vacuum is connected to the back (or is it the front?) of the vehicle by a hose, where the Slag Hopper is located. Does this mean the lava gets processed on board? And... what would it get processed into, a material, fuel, food?
In the 3D image, but not in the 2D sketches there appears to be some sort of hook hanging off the back (or front?) from some ropes; what would this be for?

It looks like the back to me. The number wouldn't be on the front of the mech, and to the left of the mech, the "lava vacuum" picture makes it look like the vacuums art in the front.




The "lava vacuum" picture suggests that they'd be use to suck up lava.




Well, the mech is made for an NPC, so it's probably not going to be used by players. I think the "02" is just detail.

Although, I think it's safe to say that Mechscape will have a few team-based mini-games.




Once again, it's an NPC mech, so I doubt players will use it.

And personally, I think the viewpoints will be very similar to Runescape.




And again, it's an NPC mech, so it will probably just be there to look at. I don't think Jagex is going to bother with fuel, or at least not in NPC mech's.

the front is probably the shown part of it because of the lights(yellow lights in front red lights in back for braking am i right?)
02 probablly just means that its the 2nd unit but u could be right and it would be amazing if it was a team based game
hook that u see is probably some sort of counter balance used to keep the harvester steady....like a hot air baloon

Looks pretty freaken awesome. I like how the cockpit is visible to the left of this concept. Now I just truly wonder what kind of things this lava harvest would be used for...

A minigame perhaps? Just some background NPCs that work for a company that sells equipment? Dangit, this isn't helping my patience.

And the smoke could be going in and not out. Who knows, it might be the lava in some kind of gas form? Or where would the lava go in otherwize?

Wow, I did a bit of a double-take when I heard that Jagex contacted MSW specifically, so I decided to take a quick glance to see how things were going over here, I'm impressed.

I'm most interested in seeing how they're going to work the humans and mechs in together. I'm just that much more excited for this game now :)

Theres a number 2 on it. Maybe that means you can control more than one vehicle at once?

Could be some decal added to make it more real...or maybe that could be it's "class"? Like maybe there's a more advanced one that's labeled 3...the steel of mechscape?
