Full Version: Favourite Rpg?

This thread asks you of your favourite RPG! Don't want to talk for like... evaarr, so a brief explanation of what you pick is sufficient happy.gif

I personally must say that Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic (for XBox and PC) is the funnest role-playing game ever. The story with incredible plot twists is very well told. It grasps your soul, often does it happen that you are so intertwined in Real-life and KOTOR that you half-expect electricity to shoot out of your hands. But the thing I love most about this game is that you're not given a lightsabre and the advice: 'Ok go ahead and kill things till you get to the boss', oh no, in this game you're sucked into many hours of gameplay and once you get the light-sabre all you can think is: 'Wow, well earned!'

Topic starts....

Ah, I am a fan of RPGs, I think I have too many favorites, so I won't go in depth of them.

PokeMon Series, I love my level 100 guys in the original Blue version.
Final Fantasy Series
Xenosaga Episode 1, still gotta play episode 2 and 3.
Dragon Quest 8, AMAZING storyline, great comedy, AMAZING scenery.
FallOut 2-3, FallOut 2 was absolutely fun, FallOut 3 still gotta play it more when I get the chance, but it is epic.
Ed5
Rpg, umm.. Dragon Quest(I think it was "the King's Curse") was one of the ones I liked the most, RuneScape of course was one of my favorite one, and there a quite a few I have enjoyed a lot.
mike470
I enjoyed Oblivion, it was the only RPG that held my interest for longer than a couple days. While I have quit, I occasionally go on my old ranger and play around a bit.
Man
Without a doubt my favorite rpg and my avatar: Chrono Trigger(SNES)

Some others:
Final Fantasy
Dragon Quest
Golden Sun
Breathe of Fire
Lufia
Earthbound
Secret of Mana.

I am freakin rpg junkie.

!!!! MAN!!! I love Golden Sun!! I played that awhile back, and when I was reading through your list I was like " I know that name." And searched it up and I remember what it was, man I seriously loved that game, it was full of puzzles and a lot of good things. But I never beat the game, because my game got restarted. ):

One thing I vividly remember was that Golden Sun had amazing graphics for a gameboy advance game. And the puzzles were great, some of them literally made me chuck my gba against the wall, but in the end it was well worth it. You really should try to beat it, great story line, action, and quite a few memorable characters. I would definitely put Golden Sun among my top 3. Also, its a 2 part series, so its epically long. I really wish they would add another part to the series.

I can't replay it, because once you play a game like that and you get far and it restarts, its hard to play it again. But Ill think about it. ;)

Pokemon Generation I games for me, and of course RuneScape (though honestly, I don't really believe RuneScape is a Role Playing Game, rather just a MMOG).
Garanaw
Oblivion IV.

Too few quests to play as a warrior though, thief owns. And mage is kinda OK too.

Yea but its a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), because it does allow you to pick the skills you want to train, and the good thing, its not only focused on combat.
HeartFlame
Zelda games, Arcanum, Oblivion. Just to name a few. I have many more. I've been wanting to play Fallout 3 but my lappy cannot handle it =\
Darth Irule
There is just to many to pick from. Just way to many.
Illuminator
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 are in my opinion the best RPGs, if not, games ever.

I also really enjoy Oblivion. The Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood were the best part of that game.

Ohhh gotta try Dark Brotherhood then... Never got any further than level 13 on my first character, there's really nothing to do as a warrior when arena, fight guild, main quest and most other quests are finished. Just explore?

So, as a thief I can rob any house whenever I want lol. That's more exciting.
Edd
Final fantasy 7 & 10.

Fallout 3 is fun.

I love Zelda too, but its more of an action-adventure than a rpg.

You don't even have to be a thief to rob houses. You just have to be good at sneaking.

If you're going to do the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood, do the Thieves Guild first. That helps raise your stats and get you good gear. Both are very helpful when doing quests in the Dark Brotherhood, especially sneaking.

Dark brotherhood is the funnest part of Oblivion, some of the quests you get put on are really awesome, such as the one game where the people are confined to a house, trying to locate a 'treasure' and your job is to take them out 1 by 1 and listen as they accuse each other of the deed lmao.
Max
Oblivion
Fallout 3
RuneScape
Pokemon Series (most of them)

And a few others I can't remember atm.

I general like RPG games for a while but RuneScape is by far the best because you can share your experience with others.
Insanitosis
Yeah, KoToR tops the cake for me as well. The second one was a disgrace to the goodness of the original.

I got very "involved" in that game. Dreams, daily life, basically everything I could relate to something I did in kotor.
Zheph
RPG's are my all time favourite:

-The Final Fantasy series
-Grandia
-Legend of Legaia
-Star Ocean: Till the end of time

Games like that are the ones i like. I love turn-based, hate random battles.
huglebunnys

To be honest, I had never even heard of Witcher until now. I might have to try that one out.

Edit: It looks like Oblivion, meets Fable, meets Lord of the rings. From the pictures I looked at.

I love Oblivion, though I don't play it much. It's an awesome game; I really enjoyed the Dark Brotherhood path.

You didn't miss much. In my opinion Oblivion's Main Storyline wasn't as good as Morrowind's. Although that could be because my first account I played on, I used the duplications glitch to give me a couple thousand health potions and I would summon monsters, kill them and take their armor. It made killing things so much easier down.gif

Oblivion FTW Morrowind was cool, but after playing Oblivion you can never go back... Dark Brotherhood questline was amazing :D like mentioned before the quest where you go 2 a party and kill them all one by one is epic :D.
Splosh

Zralmor
Should I try Oblivion most everyone here seems to like it.
Insanitosis
Yeah, get it. I want it, but would rather save up for fallout 3. Don't know though.

Oblivion has all the qualities that Morrowind fell short of. The animations are good; Your character DOESN'T run as if he has a penis stuck up his ass. You won't feel as lonely as you do in Morrowind, remember walking around for 20 minutes straight around that same boring red mountain without seeing a single person? Doesn't happen. Also, the people don't treat you like shit in the game this time.

The only thing Morrowind has on Oblivion is a better storyline, but the subquests of Oblivion absolutely RAPE Morrowinds, if you're up for some luls I guarantee you that the dark brotherhood storyline is the most fun you'll have on a RPG ever.
HeartFlame
I'm adding Star Wars KotOR2 to my list, I love this game, it's all I've been playing since I got it to work in vista...
Divine
Even though I'm still playing an RPG right now.... Anyway those old NES and SNES game were a lot of fun including Final Fantasy 1 and 2 don't forget 3 and 4. Right now I'm playing this RPG on my PSP called Brave Story New Traveler -Awesome game. And and FF VI and V a have very good story and there is these two incredible games which are so awesome that I forgot the names of. Thats all I can think of for now.
Insanitosis
Yeah, KOTOR and KOTOR2 were really good, I would play them again but I still remember everything that happens.

:D GOod to hear that oblivion is even more epic! I don't really mind not having much of a main story, the subquests and dungeons are where its at.
prot0type
Elder Scrolls FTW!! Especially Morrowind. It rocks! Imo it's better than Oblivion.
coolguy56789
kotor 1 and 2 are definately epic. i've replayed them both like 3 times. i still play them occasionally on my 360.
Electron
I just bought Fallout 3 like a week ago.
