We know it redirects to funOrb.
Well off Merriam-Webster it says:
1 a: of or relating to the stars : astral b: composed of stars
From Dictionary.net:
1. Of or pertaining to stars; astral; as, a stellar figure; stellary orbs.
[These soft fires] in part shed down Their stellar virtue. --Milton.
2. Full of stars; starry; as, stellar regions.
So maybe its part of MechScape?
"Stellar Dawn" does sound spacey, so MechScape-related definitely makes sense.

Nice find Ren.
It is possible that is a part of MechScape, but I suppose we won't really know until MechScape is released.
I wouldn't be surprised if it is related to something else though..but to what? Who knows :P

I hope it's ThirdScape, although it's not a 'scape so maybe not.

Yet another nice find. It seems to be related to MechScape, but then again it's hard to really pin-point its purpose.
You amaze me with these findings Ren. Great work.

There are FunOrb games called StellarShard and Zombie Dawn.
Maybe they want to make a website like www.stellarshard.com, which redirect you to www.funorb.com?
And on Orb Downloads on FunOrb, when you look on wallpapers, you can see a "Wallpaper of upcoming game".
Description says:
QUOTE
The game is set in the Techno-Data Age, and is themed around 'cybercrime' and 'cyber-espionage'. It will be a multiplayer game with co-op elements, and include fast frantic action!
Maybe new game on FunOrb?
QUOTE (Siganiv Lord @ Feb 4 2009, 03:15 PM)

Maybe new game on FunOrb?
Jagex has made many FunOrb games but haven't submitted trademark applications for any of them. No trademark for their beloved Arcanists nor their new baby Armies of Gielineor.

I think that this might be MechScape-related. Maybe in MechScape a big NPC company/gang/whatever that adds a ton to the storyline and is a very big part of it will be called Stellar Dawn and deal in something or another or something else. FunOrb seems highly unlikely, and seeing as MechScape is already a sci-fi game, I'd hardly see ThirdScape a possibility. Great find, Ren!
It'd be cool of Stellar Dawn was a faction or group or a company or something which has a big role, like Skynet in Terminator or Blu-Sun in Firefly. So instead of like in RuneScape where you find the true nature of the Gods, in MechScape as the game progresses you learn more about the truth of Stellar Dawn.

Jagex registered a VegaScape.com too.
Maybe the 'ThirdScape" will be 'VegaScape'?
The www.vegascape.com redirect to www.runescape.com
It will be better name for MMO than Stellar Dawn.

I find this 'Stellar Dawn' strange to be honest. What on earth could this be? It's not MechScape thats for sure. Thirdscape? Well, I'm abit confused why 'Stellar Dawn' is a new trademark. I guess we have to wait and see. I hope more info is comming soon about Stellar dawn!
Anyway, great job Ren! Like always.

Interesting. As a fact it isn't going to be any small-scale project, so it could well be MechScape or ThirdScape related, or something else up their sleeves. I had the horrible thought of Jagex leading everyone on thinking it's called MechScape, then releasing it named Stellar Dawn, as a couple of you mentioned. As a community, that's the last thing we want! But that would be a bad move by Jagex, since they have done well stirring up underground rumors and allowing popularity and anticipation to develop. So that theory is out of the window. I also have doubts about ThirdScape being targeted at a younger audience, but that's just my opinion. If that is indeed the case, then maybe a Sci-Fi children's MMO isn't a bad idea, especially when you look at the success of Club Penguin.

Don't worry, it's in safe hands.

P.S. Not sure about the point of registering Jagex names for it -- most of the MechScape-related names were later banned AFAIK. :P

i figured out what it is its a new funorb game check
the orb downloads wallpaper it there some were check
the picture
Now that I think of it the
FunOrb concept art for an upcoming game makes it look like FunOrb will be having an awesome space-themed game coming up. It is possible that it is a bit like Armies of Gielinor is to RuneScape but more so, in that it's a MechScape tie-in and they think it'll be popular so they are trademarking it. A little out of character, but plausible. Thanks for reminding me SuperKnightS.

Ren and I were talking and I thought it'd be awesome if they brought Cyberwars back under the name Stellar Dawn. Maybe a precursor to MechScape (minigame). Runescape had a precursor, so maybe MechScape will, too. It's certainly Jagex's style.
If you remember Cyberwars.

pretty sure im happy about this find im regestering steller night at the moment even though im positive that it will be banned but u might as well try.
One interesting theory I heard over at TIF is that it could be for a tie-in novel which introduces people to the MechScape universe similar to how Betrayal at Falador introduces people to RuneScape. After all, they do talk about MechScape as a brand rather than a game. Personally I think that'd be excellent.

Has anyone thought this might be thirdscapes unreleased name? They registered mechscape.com about a year before it is due to be released...its about a year before thirdscape is due...
Or perhaps it is a deliberate thing for fans to pick up on to throw them off mechscapes scent....
Either way i can't wait to find out what it is!

Something really interesting hit me as I realized that it redirected you to Funorb.com. I used one of those source viewers to view the source, and I get a 400 error--bad request, in other words, there is an error in the redirect code. Pretty funny, don't you think?
Additionally, if you get a 404 you don't get the "Jagex" 404; you get a standard HTTP 404. So I've found out they're running Ubuntu with an Apache server through port 80... well, not too difficult of course, as long as you can read, and not at all surprising either. But the funny thing is that they're also using the Suhosin Patch mod. It basically protects PHP servers against buffer overflows and XSS vulnerabilities, simple hacking vulnerabilities, and also against more severe vulnerabilities. They also have OpenSSL set up, so for "some mysterious reason," they must want additional security. And why would they do that if the site only redirects you somewhere? If you look up their IP for Runescape.com and Funorb.com, you'll see that they don't share a single IP, showing that they want it so that in the case that one server goes down, it doesn't affect both games. And when you look up Stellardawn.com... An entirely different IP altogether. This has got to be something big. This tells us that the site is most likely going to be used for something other than redirecting... although that probably isn't very big news as they've already registered the trademark and everything, but still it gives us some solid evidence that it exists, and more importantly: now that they have a website where they take these precautions, and is not going to be just a redirect... For me, all the evidence I've just gathered in five minutes plus the past evidence points to one thing.
