EDIT: changed text color from my usual blue to pink just in case it can mean another 25 cents or whatever donated. I know it's past the date, but doesb't hurt to do it. Well, it hurts my manliness, but maybe the spaceship in this post saves it???

EDIT 2: Not sure what was wrong the first time; fixed link to a higher rez image.

EDIT 3: please see the PS at bottom regarding the art; it is also in my second post in this topic.

Hello everyone. My name is Rhoi Fajardo, mainly I am a composer, but I am also creating a totally new, unique scifi universe. I still don't have a website, just soem webpages with my music, but I hope to finish my website in the next few months.

Like I said, i'm writing a scifi universe, all by myself. 2 novels in progress, one more planned, and i'm been making up all the history, technology, weapons, characters, political stuff, designing spaceships, mechs, maps, insignias, flags, and culture. However, although i've got a LOT done and stacks of concept art, until I have more done (ie, a novel), I still won't be releasing it to the public, so even though I've got lots of good drawings I considered submitting, I coudln't. I don't want anything to go public until i've got enough done and I have a website as a foundation for my online existence. Otherwise, I would have also submitted a mech for the contest. :P

But then I came upon this one sketch... I've always made sure to keep my imagination, so I can see ideas or full designs for spaceships and mechs in anytihng from clouds, to blackboard erasure marks, to piles of clothes, random items, etc. This design? A price labler whatchamacallit. It's been on house for years, we've used it to put prices on items for garage sales. So, I kept pretty much the exact shape (so i'd think some people would recognize it), so obviously, since the base for this drawing isn't that serious, I decided to draw a large version and submit it. And so I did. :)

That stubby stuff, if I had more time, I would have properly shaded them so that it's more obvious that they're not just stubs but gun barrels and thus hollow. It's is also missing some omni-directional turrets that were going to go on the top and rear sides of the ship. There is only one on the top. Since part of why I made an drawing exclusive for this content is to keep my work secret until ready for release, it does not have all the highly-advanced features, technology, and design elements of my scifi universe. It would fail miserably against canon designs, mainly in terms of firepower and especially maneuverability.

I have to admit... i came out much cooler than I thought, and I think I'll still use it in my scifi universe. Thus I present to you, the Blague (French for "joke") class Battleship; built in 3435AD, the specific ship is the OSOS-Herr.

Agreed; I do grant this permission. Though not a condition, if it were to be used somehow, I request to be informed simply so that I can know and can maybe see it. :)

So now, the fluff for it.

As is common in most battleships in this era, this battleship features a prominent weapons blister containing an array of *classified* class weapons so that the ships has a near-complete 360 degree firing arc in all directions. This is especially important to counter the unusually boxy shape of the battleship. Unique to this design however, is the chopped-up nature of the blister, allowing for extra weapons in the middle for the traditional broadside, as well as a set of Heavy Bombardment *classified* Disruptors in a semicircle.

It also sports a carrier bay for fighters, but is large enough and deep enough specifically for the purpose to be able to hold up to 5 Light Cruisers for transport and protection. It mounts only two pairs of *classified* direct fire weapons, and 3 capital *classified* stealth missile launchers. The reason for its disappointing capital armament is because of its unusually large *classified* armament, specifically made for this ship - or rather, the ship was built around this weapon. Almost as big as a starbase class superweapon, the *not at liberty to reveal this info* Feeding this immense weapons, aside from two typical ramscoops top and aft of the ship, are two monstrous bussard ramscoops, one on each side, the largest known to be produced. The ramscoops are so large and powerful, they could pull in, shred, and decompose whole light cruisers for energy, and easily swallow and disintegrate anything smaller into its gravity wells. It is also for this reason, that most of the weapons in the blister are high-tech ballistic weapons and simple, low-energy beam weapons of designs trusted over many centuries.

Although 4 engines is common for the size in this ship, they are dreadfully underpowered, being compact versions to allow more energy to be saved for the *classified* *classified.* It also has merely a few extra *classified* engines, giving it very low maneuverability. This keeps the Blague from ever being a front line ship. It is instead used as artillery support, out of the enemy's reach, but still always in range though *classified* sharing and the dimensional *classified* features of the special *classified* *classified.* It's armor is also low for a battleship, due to the bulkiness and low space for supporting equipment for the *classified classified.*

Despite its severe weaknesses in primary, high tech weaponry, maneuverabilty, speed, and armor, most everything else is typical of a battleship. It has excellent *classified* defense, even for bigger threats due to its 144 mech-class weapons. A *classified* FTL is standard, as well as *classified* lensing capabilities. *Classified* separation was incorporated into the design from the start, as well as the large *classified* in the side of its lower protrusion. Despite the seemingly dangerous design elements (if shields were to be lost/depleted) such as the exposed nature of the *classified* *classified* and locations that would seem to cause much damage when destroyed, it follows an exceptional design of the typical compartmentalization and *classified* beaming and *classified* adaptive and repairing technology, making it quite tough and seemingly indestructible. Its *classified* detachment and *classified* landing facilities help make it more useful to the fleet outside of battle.

PS: I wanted to make a note, based on comments from another message board; I know perspective is a bit off. It was really hard because of how the ship is kinda bent and not straight, and the rear is actually slightly wider than the front, though I think I didn't reflect that well with the topmost lines. That made it a really hard thing to do, but with all my ship designs, the focus is the design itself, working out design for my scifi, so I usually do them isometric of with slight perspective

Wow... I'm just blown away...

I don't know what to say. :o

I like it, it has some very impressive *classified*! I would sail it out to *classified* with a whole fleet, we would then fight off the *classified* invaders. Then I would jump on a shuttle, fly down to the planet *classified* orbiting *classified* and make sweet love with green alien women like Kirk once did.

I like this picture, its very detailed. Now... Please use this link instead, I really... dont like pop-ups... http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/5354/bl...leshipusoi9.jpg

Thank you very much for respecting the top secret nature of this information. Kudos to you. The real, edible kind of kudos. Yummy. biggrin.gif

Pip, lol, interesting way to use the word abide.... I was confused when I first saw it and still not sure about it lol. Is saying that you tolerate something, your way of giving approval? :P

Marje, I'm not sure what you mean by pop ups, but anyway, I'll do that because I'm having trouble opening it through that link anyway, so maybe others could be having the same issue.

And thanks to everyone else, glad you like it. :D
