This job ad specifically gives a job code of "ho2010" for the Head of MMORPG vacancy I
posted about earlier. This of course correlates with the "plans for a third MMO sometime in 2010" discussed by Iddison at the GameHorizon conference (
source). I also have word from a Jagex source that Jagex held a brainstorming session on ThirdScape a few months ago.

Hmm, sounds interesting. I look forward to learning more about the game and their plans. I just really hope they don't go with the cash shop idea; although they probably will.

I really want to see what this is going to be.
It sounds very interesting, but I kind of wish they'd spend at least three years focusing on Mechscape.

Hmmm, If they bring out MechScape and "ThirdScape" too quick could be bad.
So, they will have a Medievil Game (RuneScape) and a "Space Age" game (MechScape). I wonder where in time ThirdScape will be based. I pesonally hope its a FPS xD But I doubt it.

I agree with you on that. I think they should work on 1-2 mmos at a time and not rush them at all. Maybe if they developed it for several years to make sure they get it just right. Idk, if just feels like they aren't putting as much 'soul' into these games and they are more interested in money then actualy making a quality game. I can't really judge it right now but I'll wait until MechScape comes out until I do. If they do a really crappy job on MechScape and they are already conserned about ThirdScape I'm really going to be questioning them about this. I also feel they should be less tight about these things. Their own website on the press page is practically outdates and unreliable because it's just plain old and not updated at all. Idk, lets see what happens. Maybe I'm getting grey hairs over this when I shouldn't.

RS is the past (sort of)... Mechscape is the future (sort of)... looks like this "thirdscape" is gonna be a modern-time game?

Hmm....What is it going to be about? Since they already have past and future, is this one going to be present?
Somthing to think about...

Looking forward to this, though they should release this a little later.

A modern RPG sounds like a bad idea

Sounds like an attempt to make a Sims game, if it is a modern mmo, that is.

Besides the potential of cross-platform and micro-transactions I don't know of any claims as to what the game will be like. They say it will be an MMORPG, but it could always be an MMO. It could be present day, which would make sense considering MS is future and RS is past, but it could also be something else. Just throwing something random in the air, but it could be a pirate-themed game (yarr!) for all we know.

I would like it to be sport themed and nothing like real life games like Second Life. Also confirmation isn't spelt in title.

I personally think they should make it modern style. Call it thugscape, lol. But seriously, I am very curious as to how they will base it. Im still just focusing more on mechscape, as should they.

What if they screw everything over and make a first person shooter

The Sims 1 is a masterpiece, and the Sims 2 isn't that bad either.
Although I'm very skeptic about The Sims 3, and I'd be extremely skeptic about a modern Jagex game.
I'd like to see something were you weren't human/humanoid. Also, sports themed wouldn't work out at all.

I'd love to see them make a first person shooter; although I wouldn't really expect them to.

^^A first person shooter isn't really supported that well by their current technology but it would be easy to implement micro transactions and the like.
