I myself am a big fan of Fire Emblem. The first game I played was Fire Emblem for the Gameboy Advance. Good strategy game. I also liked Fire Emblem Sacred Stones for the Game Boy Advance. Both are fun, addicting strategy games. I don't play many of the main Fire Emblem games, Just some third party American ones. I have played Radiant Dawn for the Wii too, its a fun strategy game with nice 3D graphics and Interactive Battle scenes. If you have a console and some spare cash I recommend trying them out.
If you like the fe gba games Blazing Sword and Sacred Stones, then you should play the first gba fire emblem game "Sword of Seals". Its storyline is a continuation of Blazing Sword, basically Eliwood's and Hector's children are the main characters. It was not released outside Japan, but think it was the best of the bunch.
