Who here has ever heard of Dungeons and Dragons? What're your opinions on it? Any current players here, or am I the only one?
I personally play D&D, though in recent weeks it has waned as the rest of my group I game with has been busy, plus a bit of inter-friendship drama. Typically when I play, I'm the Dungeon Master (The guy narrating the story, creating the plot, NPCs, all that stuff.) Our current campaign is D&D 4th Edition.
*Waits for "D&D IS EVIL!" rants, or perhaps "NERD!". Maybe if I'm really lucky I'll get cricket chirps.*
It seems interesting, buy I've never played it. Andrew Gower did tho, and based RuneScape on D&D.
The rules for D&D always confused me. Watched a few games before though. Never played it myself.

I've never actually played D&D, but I have heard about it. I tried the MMORPG of it, but it wasn't a very good game.
Is there any rule book (specifically: free) out there? I wouldn't mind learning a bit about it. Never hurts at least.
You have to buy the official rulebook of Dungeons and Dragons. The latest is the 4th Edition, but some may prefer older versions. Best you'll get legally for free is
probbably this. Also see the
wikihow entry.

I love that game, used to play all the time, most of my friends never had the time or attention span or brain capacity to play such a game, the only times I've played it was with my dad and my little brother. That was a long time ago, though. It seems the world has forgotten magic.

I've got a friend who's a Marine and use to play football in high school. He's about as not-nerdy as you can get, and he plays D&D. I personally have never went out of my way to play it. It just doesn't appeal.

I play, but not for about a year now. I still have a large collection of the books and so forth and expect to start playing again someday. I haven't tried 4th edition however.

I've never heard of this game. What's "The Black Eye" (The English translated title) about?
