As the title says, What is your favorite book?
I have read a good some of books probally read like 1-2 every month if i have the time. My favorite book is Candy, by Kevin Brooks. Its about a smart and well off teenager who becomes more and more envolved with a girl he meets in London to the point of obsession. He finds out she is a "Hooker", but can't except and continues on a down hill spiral. I also really liked the book Crank but i dont remember who wrote it.

I enjoy reading a lot, and am currently reading Brisngr (the new Eragon novel) which is pretty decent

My favorite book(s) of all time are, Battle Royale, Scar Tissue (auto-biography), The Future Of life (non-fiction on the topic the title suggests). While I enhoy reading the more challenging novels (mostly non-fiction on topics that interest me e.g The Future Of Life, which is about how humans are impacting both negatively and positivel on the evolution and development of other animals and the planet and what we can do to minimize our negative impacts), some of which are amazingly well written, I do love to read the easier books now and then, like the Harry Potter novels etc.

I really don't read much at all. The series I've enojoyed the most is the Harry Potter one, but I guess it's due to me growing up around the time the book(s) were around and it's always been a big thing here in the UK.

Ok I just finished reading Code Orange. And that was really good and I'd have to say that's up there in my top 10.
But my favorite of all time was the His Dark Materials series. (Golden Compass, Subtle Knife, Amber Spyglass) I liked the style of fantacy Pullman uses in those books.

I'm not a fan of any novels, but I do enjoy encyclopedias and almanacs. I have sat for hours on end reading them. Useless knowledge is one of my loves. I'm a rare person who actually loves getting fact books for gifts.

Since im assuming you read the first one, how does it compare to the movie. Since it seemed very PG friendly. I was just wondering if the book was like that too. I really dislike reading a book to find out that is has a unrealistic happy ending.

Personally, I don't really have a favorite book.
I'm enjoying a bundle of shport stories in a book named Fiction; I also just finished reading The Appeal and that was pretty good.
I don't really read enough, though; but english is keeping me busy these days with all the books I have to read.

So far I'd say The Hobbit is my favorite book. I've also enjoyed reading the Harry Potter books and Richard A. Knaak pocket books based after Blizzard's games (Diablo: Legacy of Blood is my favorite book by him). For things I want to read in the future, I'd say finishing the HP series and that one RuneScape book (looks kinda interesting).

If you haven't read anything by Isaac Asimov, Philip K. Dick and perhaps Arthur C. Clarke then you should give them a try. I find Ursula K Le Guin's Hainish Cycle series enjoyable, but I don't think it is for everyone. If you were into Star Trek: Deep Space Nine then I heartily recommend the excellent relaunch novels, as they have their own continuity and multi-book story arcs.
Generally speaking I prefer series to books, and grew up on Harry Potter and Terry Pratchett's Discworld. Lately I've also got into high fantasy again (from being into LOTR when younger), and can recommend both George R. R Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series (not for kids!) and Ursula K. Le Guin's Earthsea series (pay no attention to the Studio Ghibli or sci-fi channel adaptations!).

Ren suggested quite a few decent ones in his post (Earthsea books are v. good although it takes a little while to get into) but another classic (good classic not bad classic lol) sci-fi novel which you should definitely read is Dune by Frank Herbert. The following isn't a sci-fi book, but you should read the book adaptation of Battle Royale, which pretty much everyone I've recommended it to has enjoyed basically due to the extremely well written gore and killing, its seriously an amazing book, you'll know why if you simply look up what a 'Battle Royale' is.

We just started reading a book called "Holes" in my English lessons, because of the "Readathon" week. We read a half of it, and then my friend told me that there is a movie based on the book to, so right now I'm getting it. The book is about a boy called Stanley Yelnats who was accused of stealing a shoe or something (I fell asleep in that lesson when they read that bit). He had a choice, either go to prison or to the Camp Green Lake. Well, there is nothing green, and the lake has dried out. That place has a great history, which you will have to find out yourself by reading this book or watching the movie. They have to dig holes everyday as a punishment, might sound weird, but you will found out why.
1984 is starting to creep up on my list of favorites as I read through it. Also, Holes was a good book when I read it, but that was 3rd/4th grade-ish, so I'm not sure if it'll hold up to my current tastes.

Holes is actually quite on older book now, I read it about 7 years ago literally. The movie is only a couple years old though but yea it has Shai Lebouf or w.e in it. I cant beleive you never heard of it. Good stuff, its one of my favorites as well, it ties so much of the storyline together ine one knot that its mastermind like.
