18-Nov-2009 - Adventurer’s Log

You’ll find that clicking on a player’s forum avatar image will take you to that player’s Adventurer’s Log – a new website feature where you can check all sorts of interesting facts about your character. From current quest progress to recent personal events, you’ll be able to get the latest news on your and other players’ accounts. If you’ve visited Iconis’s Photo Booth, there’ll even be a couple of pictures of your character.

As you play we’ll be generating interesting news about your character’s experiences: high-level NPCs killed, expensive monster drops, and even player kills made on PvP Worlds will be logged. You can also look at other players’ logs (if they’re public) and compare characters. We feel we’ve covered a broad selection of newsworthy events, but would love to hear your ideas for what else you might like to see.

Be advised that every player’s Adventurer’s Log is publicly viewable by default, but you can set your profile to be available to ‘Friends only’, or make it ‘Private’ so only you can see it. Regardless of your Log’s privacy setting, your ‘Time Played’ information will only be visible by you. The Adventurer’s Log can also be accessed via the website’s Community menu, or by clicking here.

We also like to point out that it’s possible for members to directly link to the images of their avatar as taken in the Photo Booth. These are the images displayed both on the forums and in the Adventurer's Log. The process for doing so is quite straightforward, and is explained here.

Mod Dylan?
Elemental Workshop 3! is near....
Aslancsc
lol, doubt it.

Anyways, I am glad that this is released as a beta officially... but I am still not impressed with it.

Actually there was a postbag hint of elemental workshop 3 a couple months ago, a jmod confirmed it

I tell you what I hate? That now Jagex don't actually tell us whether it's Members Only. So now if your f2p you go to check it out only to find you can't; so you pretty much just wasted your time trying access the new content which makes you feel angry because Jagex didn't actually say who could and couldn't use it.

It's like the forum avatars. I was under the impression that because my account could access the forums that I could have an avatar too (Although it really didn't matter, I just wanted to see how they did it.) Of course after walking to the area I found it was members only; logged out for another year and felt ripped off because they never said it was members only.

"As a free player you do not have your own Adventurer's Log, but you can view other players' profiles. " Thanks...

It should have a star or something next to the newspost name, gold star = members, f2p = silver, both stars = both.

Assume everything is p2p unless otherwise stated, when did they ever say it was members only?

They didn't, that's the point. They didn't say, but it is members only.Kind of stupid really as all the AL it shows the person who looks you up is your stats, a random picture of yourself, and 50 billion messages saying "You killed X."

I purely just wanted to know how much time I'd spent on Runescape, but I'll never know...
Crash Jordan
They blame it on bandwith and storage costs.
Lord John
I guess when you just lost $10 million pounds on MS you have a resonable excuse. (As though they couldn't just do away with the individual highscore pages and replace each one with the AL.)
