Hey, I was bored and I found Stellar Dawn's HQ...
Here is the site:
http://www.stellarhq.comAnd then I used domaintools to check if this was Jagex's site, and it looks like it is, click below to check if you want:
http://whois.domaintools.com/stellarhq.comThat's all :P
And sorry if this isn't new, I just wanted to say it.

Jagex register often various domains related to their upcoming products that they don't intend to use (often to avoid domains getting into the wrong hands). I expect that this domain registration is just because they didn't want someone else to register the domain. It seems logical that the domain they'll use will be StellarDawn.com.

Although it seems more than likely that RunHq would want that site...

Well, thanks for your replies =)
Maybe Jagex end up giving RuneHQ the StellarHQ.com site...
(for a fee of course, lol)

I've never heard of Jagex selling any of their parked domains for fees. As Ren said, the domains they register associated with their products are intended to be theirs to control and not for use "in the wrong hands".

Gah, I know, I was kind of joking, but I didn't find any joking smileys, (Ren ...)

1. Jagex giving a domain to the appropriate fan site probably isn't inconceivable, although it doesn't seem to be commonplace.
2. This forum supports an unlimited number of emoticons/smileys.

With the new name, We here at MechHQ/Global Gaming HQ have gone ahead and changed the name from MechHQ to StellarHQ. Doesn't that sound so epic? StellarHQ! Anyway, We are still part of the same company that's been your number one help site for all your RuneScape related needs, for 6 years now! We hope you enjoy your stay with us, and we will continue to keep you informed.

Jagex must have saved the name for them.

IIRC, they don't use a .com domain for this very reason - Jagex reg'd MechHQ.com and so they had to go to .org or something.

Yep. Sorry. Interesting that Jagex would reserve those names.

Well, Ren, I didn't find the emoticon for joking
Anyway, sorry that I didn't think clearly when I made this thread, I should've thought of Jagex buying the domain
to keep scammers away...
But seems like this thread is getting to discussing about the Stellar Dawn HQ anyway =)

im fairly certain that is why jagex registered it, to make runehq not be able to go to SD, unfortunately rune hq has already gone ahead and made themselves and mechhq.NET and it is on the official fan site page on the RSOF

well it sucks for runehq because its now offically stellar dawn for the title. I have no idea why Jagex would want all these domain names anyway. its just a waste of $15 a month.

Just look at it like this:
They got over 1 million members... maybe 1.4 Mill...
And then remove 200 of those, and you'll get 100 domains...
That's not much, so I don't think Jagex care about money from only 200 members :P

For clarification, mechhq.net officially changed to stellarhq.net recently.

Honestly, I have a feeling Jagex registered it because of the rep *HQ.Com sites have for being on the official fan-site list. Someone could easily register a Stellar Dawn related website with a common fansite suffix or prefix, then turn it into a scam(imagine MSW with a play SD link on it).

I agree with Nicatron. Perhaps they'll release their hold on the domain name once the game is released.

They could be saving it for runehq owners for later. Not for a profit. Just to be nice.
