Wow , i just had the red ring of death blah blah we all heard the storys but ive never heard of some1 instantly getting rid of it

I got the red ring of death (player 1 , 3 , and 4 lights were red making a almost completely red circle , to show tht i know what im talking about) and then i unplugged my 360 then i plugged it back in and started it up and i didnt have anymore!!!

If this is normal and youre still suppose to send it in plz tell me so i dont screw anything up lol .
PoultryChamp
I was like "what the fuck are you talking about?", then I read your signature, and I understood perfectly.
Hayaemsay
If you were immune to RRoD then you would not have received it in the first place.

Edit: Lol grammar
Aslancsc
this is normal and you aren't supposed to send it in. what it means is that your power plug was in some way not fully connected. y re-plugging it you succesfully solved the problem. Also, it is not the full (4 segments) circle that is most fatal, but the 3 (where player 1 is not lit up), it signifies a hardware failure (melted motherboard etc.) and must be replaced at a store or through mail.

you should be fine as long as you don't have any over heats, frozen screens, or lost memory.

edit: "I was like "what the fuck are you talking about?", then I read your signature, and I understood perfectly. "

Poultry Champ.............. you should be ashamed of yourself. and by the way, one person does not speak for/represent a whole entire group. you can't take a part of a whole and see something about itand then assume everyone in that whole has the same aspect as that one part did. k thanks, bye

That's because there is a less than one percent chance of a PS3 ever getting a Yellow Ring of Death. If Microsoft cared about there products more, rather than easy cash, no-one would ever get the Red Ring of Death.

Because that's why they have launched a massive campaign to replace all RROD xboxes free of charge? I think MS have shown greater respectability in dealing with the RROD than sony have with the YLOD.

End comment: M$ tried to make quick cash, failed, but then accounted for their mistake. I make them even.

I've never heard of a Wii having this type of problem. Nintendo tends to make everything they create immune to destruction.

I believe in Jesus Christ, and I'm not stupid nor insane. Think before speaking, PC.

To OP: It was a half unplugged power cord. That happens.

You guys take things too seriously.. Obviously she was joking around, and still doesn't know what we are talking about.

And I am glad my PS3 doesn't have problems or has a higher chance of getting messed up like Xbox.
I am not sure what I would do, since I have no kind of money to even pay for monthly.
But I must agree Xbox is better than PS3, just that I would chose PS3 over Xbox any day, unless I had money.
EliteZeon
Eh... knock it off with the religion joke dispute guys.

I am a PS3 Fan... they yellow light is there, but it is very rare. My friend had it like 2 months ago, but he was able to send it in and get it fixed.

But in anycase, that Red Ring, has it hit the 4 yet? Or just a fraction of a whole circle? If it has hit the 4 but then started going... take it as a sign your XBox is going to die sooner or later, like a man with a harsh virus. With a minor cough of one or two rings here and there, and then more life threatening threes and the heart attacking four.

Wiis... they don't break, they break other things, like TVs, Mirrors, Windows...etc... if being handled carelessly. biggrin.gif

The Wii is the most stable of the 3 even though it's problem is mostly when the dust goes inside.
Alex
To be honest, MS have fixed the RROD for newer Xboxes. It was only the first lot that had a problem.

but the wii is nothing compared to the xbox or ps3. and don't tell me that swinging your arms around makes it better... plus, ever heard of project natal? Xbox with motion sensors. :D
EliteZeon
I see Project Natal as a revamp of the Playstation Eyetoy, coupled with preset programs and some voice recognition.

Giving too much emotion and intellect to a computer system will soon lead to the launch of Terminators. blink.gif

Side's I'd prefer to be holding or grasping onto something when I am trying to swing an imaginary sword or use an imaginary steering wheel.

I think we are starting to flow a little off topic from the main thing at hand.

topic: 360's don't suck as much as they are hype'd up to suck.

I bought a xbox 360 bout 2 months ago, doesn't overheat, never had troubles and don't expect to have any.
new xboxes have some sort of chip or sumthing that lowers heat and chanses of rrod is lower than ps3's.

with games like cod 6 coming out, i'm not intrested in pc games atm :D:D:D:D

2 months isn't long enough to tell about a xbox's future
TehBigGun
I had a RROD in Mexico once and I was like "Fuck! Where am I going to get it fixed in Mexico!" Then I realized I accidentally unplugged the cooler. :P

It can go the other way around... I feel this is going to still be a flight of the Fan Boys however... I think I should take my leave from this topic soon...

I remember reading a story on gamespot on someone's blog... gonna have to search for it.

Red rings aren't very common anymore. It only happens when some douche puts it in a crap spot so it has no airflow.

This topic makes me want to make a 360 vs ps3 topic..

I agree, I've had my 360 Elite since Halo 3 came out, and haven't had any red lights.

Forget 360 vs. PS3, its more like a Windows/Mac debate... it's all in preference.
Darth Irule
I had red lights on my 360 once. I sent it in and they fixed it for free and no problem since then.
Crash Jordan
I've had mine since the day halo 3 came out too, no rrod. Thats like 2 and a half years?

Release for Halo 3 was sometime in September '07, if I remember right...
Crash Jordan
Yeah. Just checked via google, september '07. Gone quick.

Garanaw
I haven't had any problems with my 360. I've soon had it for a year.

I actually laughed because what Poultry said made me think that God intervened and fixed the RRoD because the dude believes 100% in Jesus Christ and is proud of it.
