The only real movie was the First Move. All the rest follow the same story... as you stated.

I watched the first 3 movies, then lost interest in Pokemon.

I just thought how funny it is that Ash has saved the world 12 times, defeated countless gyms, won almost every single title in each region yet when he goes to a new town no one knows who he is :P

In the anime with the episodes the movies never actually happened.
The movies 10,11,12 are connected though.

I like the movies. Very cheesy in some parts, and yeah, all have the same story like you said, but they're still enjoyable to me..

I'm not watchin them on youtube, but downloading all the parts and I'll splice em together later and burn em. Happy birthday niece and nephew. haha

I didn't know there were more than maybe 4 Pokemon movies...

And yet Ash doesn't remember seeing other legendary pokemon each time he sees them again. >_>

With every genetation come more movies.
There are currently 493 pokemanz and im hoping that next year's movie shows a 5th generation pokemon as i love the games and no new generation means i lose all interest.

Eh... I don't mind the movies, a good time waster.

I do recall them looking back to the 2nd Movie for a brief second when they are in the Whirl Islands.

James or someone says something like,
"So it is like a Lugia back in the Orange Islands?"

Then again, Team Rocket always breaks the fourth wall. Eh, I have some interest in the movies, since I like trying to connect things... plus some of the orchestrated music they use is pretty good, and gives me inspiration for Fantasy Drawings and plots. I was actually trying to draw an Underwater Temple at one point, based off one of the movies... I think I scrapped it though.

also i liked the first 2-3 sesons and they got bad....

Pokemon is just complete bullshit. It is the definition of what not to do when trying to make a compelling story. Why? Because after the first season (before, even) character development has stopped. There is no character development. Ash meets some random filler characters every episode, makes "friends" with them, eats their food, does some shit, then leaves, never to see them again=no one cares about them. There is no romance between characters, no hostility. Brock and Ash are always together no matter what, no one ever ages. It's been more than a decade since this shit started and yet Ash hasn't even hit puberty yet ffs. The technology makes no sense. They have advanced computers and robotics, they even showed that America exists at one point when they went to hollywood, and yet there are no guns, the closest thing is a friggen net rocket launcher (lolololol) and giant robots seemingly made of solid steel are destroyed by a spurt of water, some dry leaves, a light blast of fire, and a "thunder shock" from a tiny rat. Thunder, by the way, is sound, not electricity=massive fail on the creators part. Where are the courts? Shouldn't team rocket be in jail for constantly kidnapping personal property, damaging personal property, attempting to harm/molest and stalking a little kid? There are bajillions of other pikachu's and pokemon yet they stalk Ash religiously with no purposes. Creepy shit. Meanwhile, Ash always has his guard down and always acts so surprised when team rocket appears. After getting raped by team rocket so many times, you would think he would figure out to get Brock to get a handgun license and buy a .45 for protection ffs. OH WAIT, IN SOVIET PARKEMON LAND, THERE IS NO GUNS, NO ONE DRIVES CARS, THERE ARE NO INTERSTATE ROADS, OR RAILS OR TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS! everything is wilderness with isolated pockets of civilization to which everyone walks. It's as if there is no country, but they are simply wandering a post-apocalyptic world where no laws exist and nothing is ever enforced. Meanwhile, we never see pokemon hunted. I understand that pokemon are the equivalent of animals in their world, so why the hell don't we see some hunting enthusiasts shooting some ratata's for lunch? How do these things reproduce? We have never once seen their genitals or any hint as to the existance of any means of reproduction (or them reproducing at all). The pokemon also come off as being sentient. They even speak english, all of them chanting their own names in english syllables and sounds (or Japanese in the case of the original).

WE NEVER SEE ANYONE CURSE! We never see the military (presumably it doesn't exist) no politics, no war, team rocket is not being hunted by U.S. forces as international terrorists wanted for all of their crimes. And apparently, with each region there is a new terrorist group always calling itself "team..." perhaps this is part of a larger network of "teams" that are seeking to destroy western society in Pokemon?

OH AND THEY ALL WEAR THE SAME CLOTHES ALL THE FUCKING TIME! When is the last time you have seen Ash change his pants, shirt, or whatever else.

There is no point to Pokemon, basically. It's a never ending series of filler episodes with no character development. It's going nowhere, like running on a treadmill. And that is why it sucks. Only little kids like it who have never seen anything else before. I used to wake up in the morning to watch this shit. Marvelous!

I stopped watching Pokemon after they started adding new ones without any given explanation to where they came from. I did watch an episode awhile back where they were having a cuteness contest or something. I nearly puked.

Digimon also fell victim to the same fate. If the games were less kiddy, and the characters less static it would actually be fun. I like the idea of raising a creature and competing with them. I haven't played Monster Ranchers in a long time but it seemed to be a slightly more adult version of Pokemon. The game did anyway, I only saw a couple episodes of the TV series, ages ago.

I'm quite the fan of Monster Rancher, Digimon, and PokeMon all together. I never got a chance to play any of the Digimon or Monster Rancher games.

In anycase, I am not going to say anything too much, because I got a feeling Bladepaul, or someone else will blow it up somehow... and I don't want to get into any of that.

But, yeah, I did find Monster Rancher to be a little more mature... but looking back on it, it shows those "for kids" stuff.

But it is awesome seeing stuff implemented for the older audiences, one of the main reasons I still watch some shows is simply to spot out these things kids wouldn't understand... sides, a number of these shows give some fan service, which I am sure someone is going to bash on... but... eh, got some other ideas at the tip of my tongue, or well, this case fingertips... but I'll hold it in.

I have to agree with Bladepaul in the fact that Pokemon has no character basis, but some of those have been righted in more recent versions of Pokemon. In one season, there is vehicles, with Officer Jenny driving a Police Car and Ash riding on a train. I even remember there being a subway in one episode. The problem of Pokemon reproducing is solved early on, with the daycare center where if you put two Pokemon of the same type for a while, you receive an egg. This is shown on one of the episodes of the earlier Pokemon, too. I don't know why they don't hunt Pokemon, after all they are wild animals, and they must get the meat that you see them constantly eating from somewhere, and this is never elaborated on in the episodes. Another thing you never see is Pokemon dying, they always just 'faint', no matter how much HP you take away from the Pokemon, and there is no older versions of one Pokemon, they all look the same age.

Yeah, and don't worry, I won't blow up EliteZeon. I used to like Pokemon too, and even now it can be somewhat fun if you have some time to kill. But I am constantly reminded of it's failures, that's all.

Well, vehicles are seen usually when they are in more major cities or end up meeting Rich Folk, or spotting evil people with high-tech stuff... Since, in the most part, they all travel in the far country side, you never see much vehicles.

Reproducing.... Its a Kids Show...

Poaching is a reoccuring theme in the series... but in terms of eating... not really One episode did have the characters wanting to kill a nearby Magikarp and eat it... I think one episode did mention speak of eating Fried Torchick. It is revealed in some of the older games that speaks about eating specific PokeMon, one including SlowPoke Tails.
Just remember, it is for little kids... it'll be like showing kids people eating dogs and cats... while accepted in some countries, most countries disdain the idea, so of course they won't elaborate on it.

Death is used rarely, but it is there when they speak of it. The older games spoke of the mofia... Team Rocket... killing a number of PokeMon, for the most part, the Cubone's Mother in the Lavender Town Tower. In the terms of the Anime... look towards the movies... unfortunately everything is Near Death experiences... Remember, it is more of a Kids Show.

As for PokeMon that look old... they actually have some distinguished looking features. Like Tracey's Scyther having wrinkles, ripped up wings, dazed eyes and fluffy looking sideburns. Just gotta look for some stereotypical "Old People" looks.


If you want to speak of Guns... Blame America. One episode in particular that was banned had this-

I think Pokemon set in a reality exactly like our own would suck. It'd basically be having a hamster and a pitbull fight, so the owner can win a pin. This is why little rats can shoot lighting out of their asses -- It's fiction. Also, it's aimed at children, hence the lack of realistic warfare and violence, profanity, sex, and drug and alcohol use. You know, because they're kids.

Now I got the urge to try and draw myself as a trainer... with my favorites that I can catch...

Hmm... I still wanna try a good PokeMon MMO, that involves instances... character customization, etc... eh, its not gonna be here anytime soon.

I remember the good old days when pokemon was a good show...the first few seasons were good and then it got crappy. The first seasons were funny and the characters actually did something. Team Rocket were somewhat smart, and it was more interesting. Two episodes from the first few seasons were actually banned in the US. O.O After a while...they just got stupid. The voice actors were terrible, the pokemon got worse. Pikachu, yet being lvl 100 still manages to get beaten by a lvl 14 gym leader. And it just was kiddish. It ticked me off. When the graphics got good...the show got bad. Its that simple. The movies are okay. They were all good in my book up untill the Sinnoh regon. I miss the old pokemon...however, i am still a diehard fan of the games.

Hmm... thanks guys... I've been looking up a lot of PokeMon stuff now.

Well the only movie that seems to have been directley connected to the episodes was the first movie and the episodes dealing with mewtwo and team rocket, i remember the episode where team rocket was walking back to their headquarters and mewtwo came flying out, escaping. The movie elaborated on the whole thing.

But i watched the first 4 movies, the 4th i think had celebi in it, but i really only liked the first 3 movies, they had a good reasonable plot.

The other thing i've noticed about the series, i dont watch it anymore though, havent for years, is that Ash never appears to age, i could be mistaken, he never gets a girlfriend, theres no real romantic plots in the series other then in the original series between misty and ash.

I know its supposed to be a kids show but i think they could do good, and maybe get a more mature audience, namely, the original generation such as my own from the late 90's-2002ish that first played the game if they matured the series a bit.

If they got into a mature audience they'd have to compete with more mature, popular anime and manga in America. Now, in Japan, this is regular and from what EliteZeon says, Pokemon is pretty mature there depending on what version you're consuming. In America though, Pokemon wouldn't stand a chance against Naruto, Bleach, and whatever other trend anime has caught on here like wildfire.
