I always found Doctor Who to be extremely cheesy...although my mom will probably want to know about this. =/
Tom
Find it fairly good.
However I doubt it will be more scary than the angels
Alex
Angels was shit, it's all about the mask kid.

Did I ever tell anyone here that I've visited the place where they publish the Dr. Who books, comics and all that stuff? My dad works there, which is awesome because the place is a nerd's dream. Dr Who, Simpsons, Futurama, Star Wars, the place is amazing.

It's almost as good as having a dad at Jagex.

Cool but only starwars and Doctor who are good. Futurama IS cheesy and so is the simpsons. It's a nerdy american thing.

The angels were seriously scary dude... Everybody I know who has watched it was scared of it. Don't move. Don't look away. And whatever you do... Don't blink!
Flatypus
Cool, I'll watch it.
Angels was more scary than gas-mask kid by FAR.

Three things:

1. He is not the best doctor ever. best actor, maybe, but not the best doctor.

2. He doesn't die. he regenerates.

3. There is a two-part special at the end of this year in which he regenerates.
Celcoli
I didn't find the one with those angels scary at all, but it was bloody good! quite liked the easter special (wormholes ftw).

Last year's xmas special was a let-down tho down.gif

Looks like him too...

Angels was a good episode but I wouldn't call it (or anything in Doctor Who for the matter) particularly scary. In fact I'd agree that Doctor Who is fairly cheesy, what with the often cheap & silly looking monsters and the laughably bad acting from minor characters. I think that's part of the shows charm though. ;)

Anywho, I'd forgot about this special so cheers for the reminder.
Neven
Personally I find this show extremely cheesy and they joke around in serious situations more than they should. :/
Celcoli
Some like it, some don't, and I like it tongue.gif
Flatypus
While it is quite cheesy, and obviously not made on a massive budget, but quite a big one, its a BBC Saturday-Evening Show. Its something everybody in the family can watch, especially little kids. My parents watched it when they were young and it was x100 worse usually in storylines (and sometimes Doctors) and they watch it still.
Alex
I think the appeal is lost on people who aren't from the UK.

At least, that's what I see in this thread. I know it's cheesy but it's a good thing to sit down and watch.

The cheesiness of Dr. Who is what makes it awesome. In fact, it's probably the only thing I can watch and get pissed off when it isn't cheesy. I'm not a huge fan of straight-up Sci-Fi, but Dr. Who brings out my inner nerd, which I appreciate.

My favorite episodes would be the ones with the gas-mask kid (The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances). The 9th doctor (Eccleston) will always by my favorite. The tenth is awesome, but 9th was just a complete badass.

Also, is it just me or was the girl in the Easter special extremely sexy? Hopefully this is a sign that Dr. Who will step it up on bringing in some hot British birds.
SgtGumbo
I used to watch this all the time, doesen't seem to come on CBC anymore though :(
Flatypus
They haven't made one since Easter :)
This is one of the few ones before the new Doctor.
Ren
This is co-written by Davies and Ford (from Sarah Jane adventures) so my expectations are fairly low. I much prefer Moffat episodes personally and look forward to him taking over. But it'll be nice to see another Who special and Tennant as the Doctor.
LordTobytwo
Actually the guy who does the doctor who music. Forgot his name damn. Something Goldman. Anyway Jagex should employ him to make music. Because I love the doctor who music. You never ever notice it. EVER! Which is good. Because you only ever notice it when it goes wrong. Also it really draws you into the show. I think it's brilliant. biggrin.gif

I have to agree with you there. That actress is one of the hottest in the show. But the next doctor isn't likely to be much of a ladies man, so he won't be flirting and trying to pull as much.

EDIT: I agree with Ren. Steven Moffat is my all time favourite DW writer. Russel T Davies was really pissing about with the continuity and used Daleks way too much. If he's reading this message (doubt it though tongue.gif ) then STOP BRINGING ROSE BACK FFS!!! Looking forward to this special biggrin.gif

Oh yeah the easter babe was FTW. The water of mars one is old though. sad.gif

Bring back the easter babe, she had a great figure! She was finally one with some class cos tbh Catherine Tate is ginger... And the new one is ginger! confused.gif

Actually I am gonna make a forum game about this. Why we should bring back Doctor Whos easter babe...
Celcoli
Yeah, it wasn't just her figure that made her good. It was the fact that for once there was a woman who wasn't some cockney living in london. She had style thumbsup.gif
Man
I live for Sunday football!!! biggrin.gif
Celcoli
and why do you think that message was suitable for this topic, hm?

I find your racism against cockney accents insulting. Especially if they extend to cockney-essex hybrids.
Celcoli
I wasn't being racist. I was only saying that it annoyed me that all of the recent women have been the same kind of people, and not much diversity in them.

I myself am from London. I'm hardly going to be racist about myself.
LordTobytwo
Londoner here. To be honest Idm cockneys but they can get annoying after a succesion of 'em.

Edit- Btw since when were cockneys a race? If they are a race then so are us tall people! We need the tubes to be bigger and more leg space on busses! thumbsup.gif
