MechScape World > Jagex > RuneScape General

Mod Emilee was asked Thursday if she can tell us what update it will be next week, she said she can't but she can give a clue.
"Umm...

No, but I'll give you a clue:

N G M"

Mod MMG said in an interview on Mmohub that Thirdscape was cancelled but some of the stuff from it it will be on Runescape.

http://mmohub.org/news/interview-runescape...and-future/296/

"We are actually working on a whole new game mechanic [for RuneScape]. I can't give much away, but it could be an entire game in its own right, or just a skill, or both, who knows [laughs]. That will be for free and members. But, yeah, that should be this year hopefully, needs to be awesome though. I don't want to give it away though because it's really exciting and no one has done it so we're kind of keeping that one close to our chest. Basically, this was going to be our 2010 game -- we were going to create another game -- but we said, this just ties in so nicely with "RuneScape" and it's cool, the community would love this, so let's not make it another game, let's just put this in the game"

Do you think that the next update could be a new skill?
Discuss.
Hayaemsay
Quite frankly you should have used the Twitter Hint thread seeing as there is already an ongoing discussion towards the subject of the update.

Regarding NGM, it's possible but there isn't a substantial correlation.

...or "Not a Good Move". Although I guess you could say that about every update...

Anyway, That does seem likely. I just hope is isn't a solution is need of a problem, like fire-making.
Human
Possibly.
But it could be a different New Game Mechanism and it doesn't HAVE to be the new skill.

And in the same page Arcane Rays said that it Was new game mechanics

New game mechanics of course -.-...

and in the next page emilee said:

So probably not.

Human
I edited my page on 05:06 and you made the post on 5:07 and edited on 5:08 to tell me i beat you to it so don't tell me i copied the reason from him not being a new game mechanic.
Faybro
National Geographic Magazine?

North Gaming Men?

New Gay M- Nevermind.

Nested Grid Model?
Nematode Growth Medium?
National Garden Month
North Germanic (linguistics)?
Next Generation Modulation?
Network Grid Model?
Net Gross Margin?

Network Grid Model, new worlds, and "Plexus". We have established it is not Lupus, any ideas?
MatheusAmr
He was hinting to the developer, not to the update.

We have to find which developer did the next update, so we can actually know what it is.

Ah, her response was to me :D

Network Grid Model

First thing it says, "A plexus is a network".

Plexus = MMG
IGotPwned
I think we've hit something guys...,

do i remember Mechscape World's account for MMG is plexus?

so he called his name: network?
Yeti
Improved networks?

We can't rule it out though, Mod Emilee may have just said that to stir the topic away from New Game Mechanic, she won't be able to say 'Yes, you're absolutely right, that's next weeks update, enjoy!' so she said that's wrong. Plus it's a mighty awful coincidence that Mod MMG talks about the New Game Mechanic and they are releasing something with the exact same initials.

I think though that the NGM is the initials of three Jmods who developed this piece of content, for example, someone said on the topic Nick, Greg V, and Marion C.
TechnoBulldog
Maybe, since it appears as though it won't be a new game mechanic, it might be a new service, like the forums and the grand exchange graphs. But I'm not really sure. Guess we'll just have to wait (or blackmail an employee).

I like our second option
Stellar
Well the first thing I though of was...

Since there is a large chance it will be zanaris that gets updated next, it could possibly hint at a future fairy ring code.
Crash Jordan
Quite likely the skill, Mod Achillies said it'd be around Xmas time.
Lord John
Let's hope it's not a lame skill. I still think they should focus on beefing up the crap skills like FM instead of releasing another one...

Crash Jordan
If Jagex could, theyd delete fm alltogether, but it's too late.

Now they are stuck with a skill that really lacks potential, when looking at the big picture.
scifire
Isn't it time the Zanaris update came out? It's been a while since they first posted about it. Could be skill, but I thought that was supposed to come out in 2010.
Crash Jordan
They showed Zanaris with bloom at the conference, so no doubt they will release bloom/stuff before/with zanaris graphical rework.
Yeti
Sound it out

gnome!
Crash Jordan
I'd like to make a note...NGM has nothing to do with what the update actually is, so really in essence, this topic should be locked.
