Go yankees! haha, what a team! Jeter, A-rod, Tex, Damon, and the star DH matsui. Hope we can sign him again next year.

Pitching staff was pretty hot this year to, CC was a great signing, but still need another starter and more depth in the bullpen.

After the very poor start when the pressure was building the team got it together when it mattered. I'm really pleased :D

Good for the Yankees. I'm not a big baseball fan, and what of one I am, I've been trained since birth to be a Cubs fan. I guess the Yankees had the better and perhaps luckier team, so they won.

no idea what Yankees is.. isnt it some American sport thing?
Lord John
Oh Baseball.

I had no idea what sport you were talking about until I read MC's post.

Grats to them I guess.
Dirk
Meh... took them long enough to win another one. Not a big baseball fan.

I'm a Yankee's fan, so I'm pretty happy. For all of you folks out there that think the Yankees pay for their players, you don't really know what your talking about. The Yankees have the largest farm system in the MLB, and invest the most money in recruiting baseball players out of college and high school. Once they are good enough for the pro's, other teams buy them from the Yankees. Just because the Yankees bought a few players like A-Rod and Matsui doesn't mean their entire team was bought, Jeter and Giambi were both brought up on the Yankee farm system. I guess people hate the Yankees because they have won 27 World Series, as compared to the Oakland A's with only 9 in 2nd place. Success does make enemies...

YES!! GO YANKEES. BACK WHERE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE. 2009 CHAMPS!

I'm a football fan by far, but still the World Series gets pretty exciting just because everyone else is excited. Good playing out there Yankees.

It was a rather boring series, in my opinion. Although, I did watch it quite a bit. I'm pretty bummed the Phillies lost, oh well.

Oh well, at least the Diamondbacks beat the Yankmes back in 2001.

Ahh...memories. I remember when the D-Backs hit that homerun in the 9th inning to win Game 7. It was priceless because I don't think I've ever heard fuck used to much in a sentance before, but my dad pulled it off.

Good times... good times...

Back when our team was good... now we suck horribly. I blame the color change! Boo!

W00t go yankees.

More proof that money can buy you anything. I could care less about baseball atm until a salary cap is implemented.

Once again, more proof that other people can control your mind. I already argued why the Yankees do what they do, and why it's perfectly fine.
MC
I wasn't aware there wasn't a salary cap in baseball (I don't follow it at all.) I can see how that could get unfair, with rich, old teams like the Yankees having far deeper pockets to pay talent to encourage them to be a Yankee when they find them. I think if a poorer team tried the Yankee farming method, as Mcharger says, they'd spend too much finding the guys and they wouldn't be able to pay them -- Or the Yankees would pay them more.

But the other teams buy them off the Yankee farming system, and it's the Yankees fault they have so much money? Basicly the Yankees get their money because everyone else is too dumb to have their own decent farm system and just buy the Yankee's recruits.
