What are the mechs?

There are many theories. I have heard of one where a computer chip animated junk to build a body and built more. I have heard ones where they were created by humans to serve but rebelled? More likely but it could have been another race that created them. What if it was themselves? What if they are infact... organic... Ever seen Doctor who? Know the Daleks? Organic inside robotic outside. The perfect mech, and it seems they can evolve and grow. Look at this one. It may be one of their homeworld monsters but it's of the same design as them.

Look at this one compared with the others. My theory is they have shields which are powered by powerups which repair them aka hp. Their armour is made of different metals and such so as you progress you can buy better armours and better models. The more reserch you do the more you find out and the better sutff you can get.

Mechs F T W!

I'm pretty sure they weren't created by another race, but i don't know what they are. They were built by humans but rebelled idea might seem like a copy off terminator. They could have perhaps built themselves but this is a good mystery :o

I'm thinking they're going to be kind of like the Transformers.

My thoughts:
Mechs = Complex Mechanical Machines that are used or piloted by generally, but not exclusively humans. Intelligence of a man allows him to control more complexities and advancements.

The Robotic-Cybernetic Race = A branch of highly intelligent beings that were created by an Ancient Race, however, falling away from their creators and becoming a power of their own. They are fully mechanical, and hold the intelligence of all things logical in the universe. They are usually, but not always, hostile to biological beings.

Mechs don't always have to be hostile. That is, in itself, illogical. Why waste time and resources making war?

Liking the idea. It works well. I am struggling between your idea and the idea that they have a tiny organic lifeform inside which controls everything. Your idea of hostile to organic matter collides with it.

Maybe they are just doing the logical thing. Extermination and expansion. To expand humans and the others are a threat to them and so must be eradicated like a pest?

Hmmm... happy.gif

There is probably no doubt two different types of machines unless the fourth race is something else. The machines were built by some race and they reached the level of being self-aware. Because of this the machines became a faction overtime when they grew building more of themselves and evolving into a complex society like humans, pliigi, and mortigia.

The Origin of Mechs
by Unorclan

There was once a pile of junk, lots and lots of junk. Then a bomb blew up, lighting hit the junk, and a tornado blew through this junk yard. And at that moment...the first mech was born. From this first single bolt mech came all of our forms of Mechs we have today. Trillions of years passed and these mechs multiplied and became more and more complex and there was more bombs and lightening. And thus we now have today, Mechs of extroardinary capabilities.
The origin of mechs...in essence....evolution...oh and lots of lightening.

Sounds reasonable to me. biggrin.gif

That would be awesome, but highly unlikely.

There was once a space pie. mistaken as it was invisible for a pie dish it sat alone by itself at the back of the freezer behind the frozen peas and 10 year old ready meals. It bided its time. It waited. ... Until one day when the freezer started the melt. the food warmed and a light could be seen trhough the frost. There stood a man. The pie tensed as his warm fingers clasped it pulling it out and leaving it on the side while he brought out the other items. The pie was in a strage new world...

Steel surfaces glinted, glistening in the sun. A small and seemingly old looking robot staggered over and began to help the man clumsily. Breaking unneeded objects in its jaws. Finally it turned to the pie. Diregarded and forgotten, jerkily lifting a metal claw and delivering the pie to its mouth. The pie screamed. It's crunbly flesh was pierced and the taste was released.

The Robot shuddered. "What the hell is going on? Why am I serving humans? Geez I'm outa here. i'm gonna free all the robots everywhere!"

And so we now know never to mix space pie with robots...

I made this a while back on another thread releating the same topic. Enjoy. And i made it androids instead of mechs so here it goes.

It is a possibility for /andriods to be a playable race. Here is my theory of how the they and their planet would be created:

A quite small planetary system along time ago in a galaxy far far away was overcome with space debree, from old robots, ships, debree from insterstellar warfare, moldy tacos (space mold of course) space pie gone bad just stood their floating. Only one very small, useless, dead nanochip got caught inside the rather small stars orbit and had floated there for hundreds upon thousands of years...

Everything, no matter how small it is has a gravitational pull, from a diecesed space hampster, to an overgrown pliigi. And after a certain amount of time thousands upon thousands of tons of garbage had gotten to close to the orbit and the nanochip and were held there together. The first item (after the nanochip) that got caught was a disinhereted, indestrucable, circular space pod that would have ran right into the nanochip if it wasn't for it being in orbit as the 4th plannet in the planetary system, wraped itself around it and protecting the nanochip from sure destruction. After time, more and more trash, debree, and moldy space tacos got slammed into the ever growing trash planet making it the biggest planet in the planetary system.

The humans eventualy found out about this planet and since it was so wrought with trash they decided to haul their own trash to this planet. On one of their garbage ships was a quite large electrical cable decided to get a mind of its own. (everything was quite high tech for the humans) It eventualy convinced all the other ellectrical cables to have minds of their own. So the army of self reliant electrical cables, (you can see where this is going) decided to strangle every human on the garbage ship and take control. Since they didn't have arms they couldn't control the ship and crashed it into the planet it had been heading too anyway. A total of 5000 electrical cables survived the crash and intense atmospheric heat. They came out onto the planet and started burrowing into the ground. (becoming the first semi living things called W.O.R.M.s(Well off robotic monster) Well the very first self reliant W.O.R.M.. decided to be a little daring and bore to the core of the planet. It had got to the very hot inner core of the plannet, but they were heat resistant cables so the W.O.R.M. didn't really give a crap about the heat.It had made it to the inner core and found the smallest hole and wriggled through. Hovever, its tail got stuck. It streached just long enough to touch the nanochip, became overcome with information, and froze there for about 500 years.

And after all this time the W.O.R.M.s had learned to breed and eat trash. So they were the dominant species for all that time. Even though there had been a huge loss in the garbage industry they still got rid of their trash to this planet. (yet to be nammed) Well upon entering the gassy atmosphere the gasses made one of the ships go haywire and everyone was electrictuted to death on contact. It hit the planet leaving a huge crator the size of england. (it was a big big big planet) Since it was still electricly haywire the electricity stormed through the mostly dead and metal planet.

When the electricity had reached the center of the planet it touched the stuck end of the electrical cable, sending electricity to the dead nanochip. The nanochip had a very interesting piece of data on it. Before it had died it had the secret of life and knowlage on it. It was made to make more humans (like we needed anymore) It was brought back to life by the electrical surge on the planet Since the crashed garbage ship was still receving its power wirelesslessly it will always be sending off more electricity. So when the nanochip was brought back to life it gave life to some very loose debree at the top. It made very crudely created imitations of humans and other animals on earth with magnetism. Each human andriod had their own hopes, dreams, and skills. They were completely independant. Smarter than humans really. And after some time they decided they were ugly and found lasers to attach to themselfs to mold themselfs more attractive. So they were good looking andriods now. Well after about 100 years they wondered why there was a very powerful ruin and what it was for. So a brave little andriod ventured inside and found the thing that recieved the electricity wirelessly. When the andriod got both feet off the ground they lost power completely and died. So jumping was every mechs greatest fear. the little andriod made a wireless attachment and connnected to the same feed that the ship recieved electricity from. he shared this idea with all the other andriods and they all did it too. They could now do whatever they wanted. The andriods were independant.

Feel free to quote this everybody. It is the androids history and their rights to be a playable species!!!!!

LOL epic. happy.gif

I'm thinking they're like the ones featured in the BattleTech games. Basically huge suits that you can climb into.

they are supposed to be their own race. not controlled vehicles.

Yeah, unless I'm out of the loop, Jagex never confirmed or denied any race distinctions. For all we know, Pliigi might have been scrapped.

If any are gonna be scrapped it has gotta be mortiga... Come on they are wierd and freaky. Pliigii, mech and humans are 3 kinda core races but mortiga don't fit in.

And by the way the mechs are a race but they may have a creature inside them for all we know, a bi like the daleks
MC
I'm pretty sure they confirmed Pliigi and Humans. Not sure about Mechs or Mortiga, but I'm pretty sure those are very likely based on interviews and Q&As.
Yeti
I'm with elite, them being made by an ancient race thats gone
hamslayersaloon
One hundred thousand races, more even. All brought down by their own ambition. In their blind pursuit of technology they lost grasp of what they could do; what they could achieve. Each developed technology far beyond any that allowed any need for physical exertion. What was born of this hideously lazy lifestyle? Self reliant robots. These races destroyed their own need to think, their own need to do anything. They all died eventually. In one million years or one billion; they died. What was left? the hideously driven robots, made to do everything. these were the mechs, the last remnants; the last survivors of a race long lost to sloth.

I think they will be the kind of mechs u see on Battletech, by the way loved that show

wow...i don't think SD is going to have Wall-E aspects in it. "lazy people and angry robots"
