What do you think about JaGex scrapping SD comment and discuss. No Flaming!
Personally I hate the idea it might have been good. I don't think it would have look like the video that was really old it might have been a lot better but now we will never know. Plus I am sick of waiting. Anyway comment and discuss.

I have a feeling they may be going over stuff like fight mechanics

Hopefully they are making the combat interactive, rather than simply "Click and Wait"

They didn't scrap it, they just went back to the building blocks. I think just to fix most of the gameplay and make some changes to the lay out of the game. They did say a lot would change but that everything would go back in.

I don't really mind them doing it, but I really hope they find a better vehicle/ship system. The one they had looked like there would be only certain areas where you could drive and areas where you can walk. I'd like to have them be mixed.

Either way it doesn't matter. They could have never told us about the re-work, and everything would have went on as normal. It's all the same. Up until MSW's 2nd birthday we had absolutely no clue about the release date or even when if it was anywhere near finished.
The game will turn out how it turns out, and because none of us have played it before (little iffy on ren) it will play just as well as it should play. It would be different if we had been given a beta test and already figured the game out, but right now we have not played a single bit. The game will be how the game will be, and if I don't like it then it's not for me.

From what I saw in the short video I believe Mod MMG has done the right decision. Of course I haven't seen the latest version of MechScape before they decided to drop it and start over again trying to up or even two up what they had. Hopefully doing this the second time over will make this a less of a unknown experience and more of a "we did that last time but now I think we should do this" for the core designs and critical decisions.
Redoing the game and making sure that it is done right before it is released is huge. If Jagex was to release the game they would have to work with what they have. Redoing a core design or concept that is hard coded into the game areas that everything else depends on is like trying to change the DNA in a person while they are adults and done growing for the most part. It just don't work right.

I think it is a good idea.
The video looked like crap. So I am hoping the new game will be better.

TBH the footage in the video looks like it has been slapped together within a few hours. I'm glad they're starting afresh on the game, using the best graphics they have and making gameplay more... epic?

The video was crap. I'm assuming they still thought after that time the game was still crap and canceled it. "might have been good" has nothing to do with it.

I really hope they reconsidering this whole "no levels, no xp, no skills" idea. I want to feel as though my character is progression. There has to be something that seperates someone who has played for years and years to someone who has played for five minutes. Character progression - key to any RPG.

I'm glad that they want to make a really good MMO, but I'm surprised that they didn't notice that it wasn't good enough earlier ... I mean, they've been saying so many good things about it ... about how awesome it will be ... and then suddenly they scrap it.

They scrapped mechscape. Please all amke it clear mechscape was the first version of the game. Stellar Dawn is the second version. Use it for clarity of the reader.
ANyway they made the right choice but should have given mechscape world a chance to try it out. That is my only criticism. otherwise they have been epic helping everybody out with the Q&A like this.

If the game wasn't good enought I agree with jagex, but I hope they release a video or something of how the game was before they scrapped it.

I wouldn't mind. I know that they have reasons not to, but I'd love for them to release the scrapped idea.
