Full Version: Happy Halloween
MechScape World > Jagex > RuneScape Media
Dizzy
It's an unfinished project. I just started it today, after taking a screen shot of myself and a penguin spy (in a pumpkin). I have added plenty of hand-made lighting effects, shadows/shading, and many other visual effects. I've also enhanced the looks of the player and pumpkin, by adding custom specular highlights. It's fun fun fun!!! I'm going to continue to work on this piece during my free time. I will post updates whenever I get the chance to.

What else is added:
- Modified colors to make it look like night time.
- Added hand-drawn lighting effects, glows, and shades to create a moonlight effect.

What needs to be done:
- Continue working on the background scenery lighting/shading.
- Continue to check and improve the ground shadows of objects.
- Add more ground shadows (for buildings and some objects).
- Continue to inspect lighting details on characters and improve/fix if needed.
- Do some clean-up around the player and pumpkin, to get rid of unneeded lighting effects.

Tell me what you think!
Max
That reminds me of the WarRock Halloween map like two years ago.

It looks good but you have something going on down at the bottom and the shadows don't match must at all.
Darth Irule
I like it so far, good job. Keep it up.
TechnoBulldog
Good job! Better than anything I could do! Keep up the good work!

Two interesting pictures of the original screen shot and the shopped image showing only the lighting effects.

This one can turn into a cool new style to photoshop things...

The original screen shot (with only the border/crop edits).

Very well done. I like it a lot, and that's rare coming from me. You sure do have the talent for graphics and I'd like to perhaps team up with you one day on a future project I have in mind when SD is released. We'll stay in touch :).
Dizzy
I can't believe I forgot to say what program I'm using! I made this image using GIMP (not as much toys as Adobe PS, but it runs MUCH faster).
Neven
I'm surprised you used GIMP for this, I guess I underestimated GIMP, as well as your GFX skills. I personally use Photoshop, and once MY computer gets fixed, look forward to seeing some of my work Dizzy.
Pliigi
That's really good. smile.gif
killrrhubarb
It looks brilliant, Dizzy. Really fits in with the Halloween theme.
Yeti
Very nice

I think I will start working on another as well. I want to get a few screen shots of the Spider Realm when the Halloween event becomes less populated. Some photoshopped images of that place would look tight.
Alex
The main problem I can see is that the cactus is glowing.
Flatypus
Looks very nice.
You should get into Screenshot Faking.
Sofee
Woah Dizzy, that's amazing. I agree with Flatty, you should be a faker biggrin.gif
displayname
very nice, but it would be better if you waited to tomorrow, as this thread might dissapear from the frontpage before halloween

After I changed the hues/colors of the image, I almost completely forgot about the shadows made by the shrubbery. The only reason that happened is because the shadows became a green-ish looking color, which made me think that it was grass (for some odd reason - the screen shot was taken at Al Kharid). Instead of attempting to remove the game's shadows, I will just change my custom ones then. Thanks for pointing that out Max; I would have never noticed this if you didn't tell me.
