Quite a big gap between the last concept art we saw and this, but it was worth it. This shows how diverse the different areas of the game will be. This seems like a desert trading village to me. Not a city, but not exactly a shanty town either.

QUOTE (Xela @ Jul 9 2009, 05:38 PM) EPIC EPIC EPIC.
The cargo ship and its design makes me think there has to be some sort of space empire/army group.
The setting makes me think there would be a rebellion.
Factions? It looked to me as if it was searching for something - with those spotlights

Factions? It looked to me as if it was searching for something - with those spotlights I saw it the other way around - the spotlights look like thrusters to me so I assumed the other side was the front. Prehaps you're right.

Perhaps the ship taking off is a freighter ship, carrying tons of commodities to sell and bringing home ones to buy, run by a merchant cartel? Given the size, it could also possibly be a passenger ship -- Or both. What really intrigues me is the guy in the foreground to the left, with the desert gear on. I just like the gear -- I hope this style is preserved in the final game because it's awesome looking.
Also, if you'll look in the first red cloth-covered stall, you can see what appears to be a green man who is partially shaded. Perhaps some sort of Pliigi (They're sort of green?) Perhaps something else? This concept art is packed with so many tiny little subtle things, I love it.
Plus, it's just cool artwork. Good job, Mr. Sellis! Thank you very much, Mr. Olifiers and Mr. Tuckwell.
