Mod Mmg Answers Questions About Mechscape! Options

Edit: Summary from Ren:
* In a few months they hope for there to be unique display names as well as usernames (for RuneScape but it should be for all, right?).
* There will be more than one playable race (species), one of which is the Pliigi.
* There will likely be a higher system requirement for MechScape due to the higher number of polygons.
* It will have its own control mechanism which is a combination of mouse and keyboard for controls (the "best of both worlds")
* If they did their job right there won't be any Real-world trading in MechScape.
* MechScape and RuneScape usernames will be the same.
* There will be a MechScape beta for RuneScape members (but maybe not all RuneScape members).
* MMG is unsure whether RuneScape pmods will automatically be MechScape pmods.
* MechScape will be awesome.
* MechScape won't be launched until it is awesome.
* For MechScape there will be DirectX not just OpenGL for increased compatibility.
* When asked if it'll have PVP I think he said "I can't really say if it has PVP or not, MechScape will be completely different from RS I believe"

At first when Ren told me there was a J-Mod in the CC I figured there was just going to be dozens of people spamming and asking dumb questions. I wasn't expecting him to be so open about MechScape. Kudos to Ren for asking what he could before Mod MMG had to leave.

On a MS release date, they won't release it until it's complete.




That was basically assumed, but hopefully this will put that argument to rest.






Basically: Name changing in a few months, RS and MS will have same usernames, there will be a new F2P Skill, F2Pers with 1,000+ Total Level will be able to post in the RSOF. They won't use a set release date but will release it when it's good and ready.

The new skill is awesome, notice how he says 'is' not 'will be'

So yes, it could always be a sub-skill.

Perhaps a subset of Construction? That would be the most logical choice, because then there would be ways to gain XP. Although I'm still not sure of the uses of Sailing.
